Volunteering at Alzheimer Society London and Middlesex
Looking for a way to help those affected by Alzheimer's disease and related dementias?
Our Volunteer Coordinator will work with you to determine a volunteer opportunity that is best-suited for you.
We provide full training and ongoing support for all volunteer positions
New volunteers will receive a Volunteer Information Package and an orientation to the Alzheimer Society London and Middlesex
Some volunteer positions will require a Police Records Check and Vulnerable Position Screening.
Completion of the Alzheimer Information Series may also be required for some volunteer positions.
Opportunities:
Volunteers are needed to play the role of "staff" in this simulation.
Alzheimer Information Series Volunteer leaders are needed to assist with the Alzheimer Information Series conducted for volunteers, professionals and para-professionals.
Public Speaking
- Speakers Bureau
The Society receives a variety of speaking requests for workshops, seminars, and meetings.
Volunteers should be well educated about topics associated with Alzheimer’s disease and are usually asked to present from one to four times a year.
- Public Information
The Society receives numerous requests for speaking engagements about its programs and services.
Volunteers should be comfortable speaking in front of an audience and be familiar with the Society’s mission and its programs and services.
Volunteers are needed for both day and evening engagements.

Grade 4 Education Program
Volunteer leaders are needed to present to Grade 4 classes about Alzheimer’s disease and related dementias in an interactive presentation.
Volunteers must have access to a vehicle and be available during school hours.
The Generation Link
Interested in helping senior high school students learn about the past while sharing life experiences? This 12- week program involves a commitment of 1 1/2 hours, once per week for social interaction between students and seniors in the early stages of dementia, to meet and create a project of recollections.
Food For Thought
Volunteers are needed to help assist ADRD clients in planning and preparing simple and nutritious meals, which can be a challenge for clients and their loved ones.
Special Events
Volunteers are needed to help organize and/or work at various fundraising events throughout the year.
Clerical Opportunities
Clerical opportunities may include filing, sorting and assisting with mailings and newsletters, assembling booklets and other tasks as required.
Public Awareness Displays
The Society participates in many community displays to help increase public awareness.
Volunteers are needed to set up/take down displays as well as staff various shifts.
